TALQ moves East with October 2012 TALQ Meeting in China!
Published on 2012-10-31
The TALQ Consortium held its first Asian meeting during the last week of October. Dongguan Kingsun Optoelectronics Company kindly hosted the technical and promotion work group meetings.
The participants were welcomed by Mr. Robin Zhu, the company’s Vice President, in its headquarter city of Changping, Dongguan, China. ”The successful completion of TALQ will make an important contribution to the future of the world's intelligent road lighting control and energy savings - TALQ will bring the future world even more remarkable light”, Mr. Zhu said in his speech.
The meeting location choice emphasizes the consortium’s objective to create a truly global interface standard for outdoor lighting network management. As for timing, the meeting nicely preceded the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair in the weekend after.
The promotion in Asia was the focus of the promotion work group discussions. With most vendors located in China and Taiwan, the program will focus on these areas. “Kingsun is fully committed to support the development and promotion of the TALQ specification in China”, according to Mr. William Lee, Kingsun’s President, and he took the opportunity to jump-start this activity by organizing local press and TV interviews with Gerard Lokhoff, the consortium’s Secretary General.
The technical work group continued to discuss the details of the specification, building on the solid foundation from previous meetings.
The next face to face TALQ meeting will be end of November, hosted by Streetlight.Vision in Paris, France.
